As an interdisciplinary artist, my practice & artwork is primarily based around tattooing, & both the traditional & modernized versions of tattoo styles. The tattoo styles I am influenced by are American Traditional, Traditional Japanese & Neo-Traditional, & Neo-Japanese. A few of my key fine art influences are Old Master artists such as Michelangelo Caravaggio, Alphonse Mucha & modern illustrators such as J.A.W. Cooper.

Most of my medium preference is sketch-based in red & blue color pencils. I also work in a variety of painting & rendering mediums such as acrylic, oils, gouache, watercolor or acrylic inks, & illustration markers.  I carefully chose the correct mediums to match the correct artwork. This decision is important to the manifestation of a project because of the impact & overall feel each medium will portray on the result. I focus on a balance of precision & looseness for my execution.

The subject matters & motifs I explore are mostly human anatomy & portraiture, botanical embellishments, a variety of real & mythical animals with an emphasis on birds, snakes, large felines, & Japanese folklore creatures. My drive to delve into these subject matters is a mixture between carrying the seriousness of traditional cultural significance, & the openness for interpretation & autonomous self-expression. By using visual metaphors, I allow the viewer to bridge their life journey & interpret the artwork, while I embed traditional & personal meaning.

Above all, my goal is to cross boundaries using these subjects & mediums. This means to create & narrate a unique story the viewer can connect their own life experience to, while appreciating the aesthetics of the artwork itself. I focus on constant forward-strides to inspire, motivate, & educate others with my artwork.
